Filter

The device used to remove AC components from the required DC is called a filter. This process is known as filteration. Various filters are Shunt-Capacitor filter, Series Inductor filter, The L-Section filter, cascaded L-Section filter and Pi-Section filter. Capacitors are widely used in filters as the energy is stored as electrical energy in the capacitor. The variations in the current are less marked than in the absence of the capacitor or the average DC value increases.
